Dr. FUNG Po Gee Genevieve

     1. 2023 Hong Kong Medical Journal Best Original Paper Award, Hong Kong Academy of Medicine

           Each year the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (HKAM) will select the best original paper that was published in the most recent issues of 

           the Hong Kong Medical Journal (HKMJ). The authors of the best paper will be recognised as awardees of the HKMJ Best Original Paper

           Award (BOPA). 

     

           The Original paper “Neonatal mortality in singleton pregnancies: a 20-year retrospective study from a tertiary perinatal unit in Hong Kong”

           by Fung GPG et al, (Hong Kong Med J 2022;28:430–7) has been selected by the members of the International Editorial Advisory Board of the

           HKMJ as the Winner of the Best Original Paper Award (BOPA) this year, after it was shortlisted by the local editorial board. The Award was

           selected from 33 eligible articles. It aims to encourage original writings of good quality by doctors, and papers published from December

           2022 to October 2023 issues are considered. 

 

           The award was presented at the Academy’s 30th Annual Fellowship Conferment Ceremony at 6:00 pm on Friday, 8 December 2023.

Dr. WAI Yee Yan Christine

     1. Abstract Presentation Winner, World Allergy Organization

           This award was based on an abstract entitled "Basophil activation test based on grass carp extract in the diagnosis of fish allergy". The

           award was delivered in World Allergy Congress 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand.​

     2. Best Presentation Award, The Japanese Society of Allergology

           This award was based on an abstract entitled "Plug-and-display peptide vaccine for the treatment of shrimp allergy". The award was

           delivered in The 72nd Annual Meeting of Japanese Society of Allergology in Tokyo, Japan.

​

     3. Travel Scholarship, European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology​

           Recipient of Travel Scholarship for European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) Congress 2023 held in Hamburg, Germany

           on June 9-11, 2023. The presentation topic was "The Allergenicity Ladder: A Possible Approach for Home-base Fish Introduction in Children

           with IgE-mediated Fish Allergy?".

The American Society of Hematology (ASH) offers the ABSTRACT ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS to trainees with high-scoring annual meeting abstracts of which they are the first or senior author and presenter.  The award is for the abstract titled "The Tetraspanin CD9 Shapes Glucocorticoid Sensitivity in Pediatric B-Precursor Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia"

1. Best Presentation Award, Department of Pediatrics, CUH
   I was awarded the Best Presentation Award in the Departmental Postgraduate Student Presentation 2023 organised by the Department of Paediatrics, CUHK. My presentation was titled "Polypeptide-Conjugated Hepatitis B Core Antigen Virus-Like-Particle (HBcAg-VLP) Vaccines for Treatment of Shellfish Allergy".

Mr. Behzad Nasiri Ahmadabadi (PhD)

1. Dragon Culture Doctoral Scholarship for Medicine (Chinese & Western Medicine)

           The Dragon Culture PhD Scholarship for Medical Studies aims to support outstanding PhD students conducting research in medical and

           healthcare-related fields. Recipients are selected based on a rigorous evaluation of their research proposal, academic performance, prior

           research experience and publications, participation in extracurricular activities and community service, as well as their reasons for 

           application and future career goals.

 

           I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Prof Renee Chan for her supervision, guidance and support throughout my PhD studies. Her

           dedication to student earning and development has been invaluable. I am also thankful for the whole team and department of paediatrics

           for providing generous resources and helping all students achieve their full potential. Their vision and efforts do not go unnoticed.

           This scholarship would not have been possible without the selfless contributions of many individuals. Thank you for this recognition and

           opportunity to advance important work in public health.​
