Clinical Services
The Rheumatology team provides the following services at the Prince of Wales Hospital:
Paediatric Rheumatology Clinic: every Tuesday
Joint Rheumatology Clinic: every 3rd Friday of a month
Rapid assessment service: Paediatric Ambulatory ward
Conditions that we look after:
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis
Juvenile Dermatomyositis
Systemic vasculitis
Uveitis, etc.
Referrals will be prioritised accordingly
We also support treatment like intra-articular injection, biologics coaching and administration, etc.
Multidisciplinary care team
We work closely with other subspecialties, e.g. ophthalmology team for managing uveitis, as well as nurses, physiotherapists, dietitians and other allied health professionals. Together, we unleash the full potential of our collective expertise, ensuring unparalleled care and unwavering commitment to the well-being of the children under our watchful guidance.
Educational activities
The Team provides an all rounded exposure to paediatric rheumatic conditions that are common in this region. Over the years we have hosted paediatric colleagues, students studying Medicine, Pharmacy and other allied health subjects, etc.
Research opportunities
The Team is the lead of the Hong Kong JIA registry. We are very interested in understanding the epidemiology, characteristics and trajectory of the local JIA population.
